HUNTINGTON – (Information from the Oregon State Police) At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, multiple agencies responded to a crash on I-84 Westbound near milepost 339. Though causing major delays in traffic while crews worked to clear the scene, both the Westbound and Eastbound lanes remained open to a limited degree. The Oregon state police has since provided a full summary of the incident:
“Oregon State Police, Baker County Sheriff’s Office, Metro West, and Huntington fire responded to a two vehicle, non-injury, crash on I-84 at mile marker 339. A CMV hauling (4) approximately 40’X3.5″ steel pipes tipped over traveling Westbound. The steel pipes dislodged from the trailer and started rolling down the Eastbound side of the freeway. A black Porsche Cayanne struck one of the steel pipes. The driver of the Porsche witnessed the crash happening and was able to get her vehicle stopped and the pipe rolled into it. OARS was notified and responded to a diesel spill out of the CMV. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were removed by tow trucks per OSP’S request.”
