BAKER CITY — A new (but familiar) face can be seen among the City Council of Baker City. At their regular meeting on Tuesday, February 10th, the Council appointed Randy Schiewe to fill the vacancy created in September of 2025, following the resignation of Stephen Carr. Schiewe, who has previously served on the City Council for Baker City, was selected in a 3-to-2 vote by council members over Deanna Johnson, the other candidate. The City Council now has a full membership of 7.
