PENDLETON – Firefighters quickly extinguish a recreational vehicle fire Friday afternoon, preventing flames from spreading to a nearby home, officials said.
Crews were dispatched to the 700 block of SW 8th Street at 1:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a fire. The first unit arrived four minutes later to find smoke billowing from an RV parked adjacent to a residence, according to Pendleton Fire and Ambulance Assistant Chief Brian Hemphill.
Firefighters from the first arriving engine brought the blaze under control by 1:27 p.m. Crews remained on the scene for less than an hour to ensure the fire had not extended into the neighboring house.
No injuries were reported, and all units cleared the scene by 1:46 p.m.
The cause of the fire is current under investigation.
