LA GRANDE – (Information provided by the La Grande Police Department) On August 26th, 2021 at 9:35AM police officers from the La Grande Police Department observed Brian Smith (34) operating a blue 2005 Volkswagen Jetta on Albany Street in La Grande. The officers confirmed Smith was driving while suspended, which was a criminal suspension.
The La Grande Officers then attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Smith, but Smith immediately fled the area driving at high rate of speed on Cove Avenue heading towards Island City. Smith also failed to obey several stop signs as he fled from the pursuing officers.
