SALEM – The Oregon Public Utility Commission (PUC) reminds Cascade Natural Gas customers and community members to share their input on the utility’s proposal to increase customer rates by 15.82 percent. If the hike is approved, it would go into effect October 31.

“We want every Cascade Natural Gas customer to have a clear and convenient way to share their perspective on this rate proposal,” PUC Chair Letha Tawney said.

There are several ways to submit comments through the deadline of June 15:

The proposed $16.4 million dollar rate increase would see a typical residential customer using an average of 59 therms per month would see an increase of about $11,07. Actual bill impacts will differ based on customer type, usage, and rate category.

This is Cascade’s first general rate case in Oregon since 2020. The utility reports the additional funds would support system safety and reliability improvements along with rising operations and maintenance costs.
