Public works continuing their efforts on snow removal

LA GRANDE – The City of La Grande wants to let citizens know about their snow removal and sanding policy, every year when La Grande receives significant snow fall, several citizens are concerned about snow removal.  Mainly snow removal is done to provide assistance to emergency services, and during school, to provide safe, passable roadways for school buses. On the main streets the city begins snow removal when snow depth is 6 inches or more.  For residential streets, the same policy applies, however the residential roads are not considered a priority, therefore the secondary roads will not be plowed until the main routes are cleared.
