Wallowa County Planning Commission Meeting
Summary
Notice is hereby given of a public meeting to be held by the Wallowa County Planning Commission on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 7:00 pm in the Thorton Room of the Wallowa County Courthouse. This hearing will include: FINDINGS: CUP#26-01__CAUDLE LANE BRIDGE-ODOT – The Wallowa County Planning Department is considering the request for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP#26-01) submitted by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The proposed Conditional Use is a request to replace the deteriorating Caudle Ln Bridge spanning the Lostine River just outside of Lostine, OR 97857. The property in question is described as Township 01 South, Range 43E, Section 10C0, Tax Lot 1800, and Reference# 8312, in the Exclusive Farm Use (EFU) zone. FINDINGS: CUP#26-03__WALLOWA BAND NEZ PERCE TRAIL INTERPRETIVE CENTER INC-TIPI – The Wallowa County Planning Department is considering the request for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP#26- 03) submitted by Wallowa Band Nez Perce Trail Interpretive Center, Inc. The proposed conditional use is for up to 6 seasonal tipi structures placed on permanent foundational pads to support ongoing cultural, educational, and community-based uses of the site. The property in question is described as Township 01 North, Range 42E, Section 0000, Tax Lot 1800, and Reference# 8312, in the Exclusive Farm Use (EFU) zone. There are no new applications being heard. These matters will be reviewed for conformance to the WCCLUP and all relevant WCLDO articles, and any other applicable goal, regulation or ordinance of Wallowa County or the State of Oregon. All applications and staff reports may be reviewed in the Planning Dept. Monday – Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Written comments must be received by the Wallowa County Planning Department – 101 S River St. Room 106, Enterprise OR 97828 – by 3:00 pm on Monday, June 29, 2026. Oral comments may be given at the time of the hearing, which is open to the public. For persons with disabilities that wish to attend, please call at least 24 hours before the meeting so accommodations may be made.
