PUBLIC NOTICE: Openings on the Union County Planning Commission Union County is looking for dedicated community members to fill two open volunteer positions on its nine-member Planning Commission. Core Responsibilities: Hear and decide on quasi-judicial land use applications and appeals. Serve on the Commission for Community Involvement to guide revisions of the county's comprehensive land use plan. Provide recommendations to the Board of Commissioners regarding updates to zoning, partition, and subdivision ordinances. Target Vacancies: To maintain a balanced and knowledgeable commission, applications are being prioritized for: One individual with professional experience in real estate development, buying, or selling. This term expires on 12/31/26. A new appointment would commence on January 1, 2027 as a four-year term. One individual actively involved in forestry and/or agriculture.
