These specialized moves will travel from Boardman, Oregon, to the Oregon-Nevada border. To maximize public safety and minimize daytime traffic congestion, all transport operations will take place during overnight hours. This project is expected to continue for the next three to six months. The Designated Route: Moving south from the Columbia River, the transport will utilize a specific bypass and highway corridor including: Local Bypass: Utilizing Highway 730 (6th St), Umatilla River Rd, and Highway 395 to navigate around Power City and Charlestown. Major Highways: US-730, OR-37, US-395, OR-78, and US-95. Key Waypoints: The route passes through the Umatilla and Malheur National Forests, Burns, and McDermitt before reaching the Nevada state line. What Motorists Should Expect: Drivers traveling these corridors during evening and early morning hours should anticipate temporary delays and the presence of multiple pilot vehicle escorts. “Our priority is the safety of the motoring public and our crews,” said Doug Smith, spokesperson for Omega Morgan. “While these loads are massive in scale, moving them at night allows us to significantly reduce the impact on daily commuters and local communities.” Omega Morgan urges motorists to exercise extreme caution when approaching transport convoys, obey all instructions from flaggers and escort vehicles, and allow for extra travel time.
