Join us for the Northeast Oregon Small Woodlands Association (NEOSWA) Fall Tour, hosted by the Top Road Firewise Communities. Learn first hand the critical role that being Firewise Communities played during the 2024 wildfire season and the resources available to help communities be more resilient in the face of wildfire.

TOUR ATTENDEES WILL GET TO: 

Hear from local emergency personnel and community members about home hardening efforts and the effect on wildfire behavior 

See how different treatments affect fire behavior Learn how different treatments are processed and resources available to help carry them out 

See a demonstration of a mobile dimension sawmill 

Attendance is free but registration is required. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Tour will be held outdoors, rain or shine, and will require moderate walking/hiking; please dress accordingly.

Location: Tour will begin at Monument Senior Center, 269 Main Street, Monument, OR 97864) 

From La Grande: Travel west on I-84 towards Pendleton and take exit 252 for OR-244 toward Ukiah. Travel for 47 miles to 

the town of Ukiah, turn left onto US-395 headed south. After 40 miles, turn left onto Main Street/OR-402 W/Long Creek nd 

Highway. Continue on OR-402 W for 20 miles and then turn right onto 2 Street in Monument, OR.
