Summary

The Baker City Cycling Classic is scheduled to take place from June 23rd to June 25th, 2023. On Friday, there will be delays for motorists on several highways in the Baker City area due to the race. Saturday will feature two races starting at 8:30 AM, with a detour for northbound traffic on HWY 30. On Sunday, racing will begin at 7:30 AM, causing delays on HWY 7, HWY 26, and HWY 245.

The Baker City Cycling Classic will take place June 23rd through June 25th, 2023.

FRIDAY: Motorist can expect delays on Friday morning June 23rd on HWY 30 in Baker City and into Haines, also HWY 237 into Union and HWY 203 around Catherine Creek and Medical Springs and finishing on HWY 203 .5 of a before HWY 203 crosses I84 and turns to Chandler Lane. Racing begins at 10:30 AM and will conclude around 4:30 PM

SATURDAY: Saturday June 24th two races will take place, the first begins at 8:30 AM and starts from the Baker City Church of the Nazarene on Hughes Lane and heads out to HWY 30, where racers will turn right and follow the road to Davenport Rd then to Chandler Lane with a final right turn onto Old Oregon Trail Rd finishing about a mile from HWY 86. There will be a detour of north bound traffic on HWY 30 at Hughes Ln onto Pocahontas and then to Chico where it will rejoin HWY 30. The Hwy 30 Detour will be in effect from 8 AM till 11:30 AM.

SUNDAY: Sunday June 25th racing will begin at 7:30 AM from Baker High School heading South on HWY 7 past Sumpter to Austin Junction where it turns left on HWY 26 will follow a rolling course to HWY 245 intersection outside of Unity. From that point it will follow HWY 245 to the finish line at the Summit of Dooley Mountain. The public can expect delays on HWY 7, HWY 26 and HWY 245 so please plan accordingly.
