Summary

The City of Joseph is accepting applications for a Water/Wastewater Operator in Training. This position offers an opportunity to begin a career in public service while supporting essential water and wastewater services that protect public health and the environment. The Water/Wastewater Operator in Training assists with the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the City's treatment systems under the supervision of certified professionals and a contracted Operator in Responsible Charge. Duties include helping with daily system operations, routine maintenance and repairs, sample collection, regulatory testing support, system alerts, on-call response, and maintenance of water, sewer, and public works infrastructure. No water or wastewater certifications are required at the time of hire. The successful applicant must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, mechanical aptitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work outdoors and respond to emergencies. The position includes City- supported training and certification opportunities. The position is open until filled. The Water/Wastewater Operator in Training assists with the operation, maintenance, and monitoring
of the City’s treatment systems under the supervision of certified professionals and a contracted
