PENDLETON – There are two public hearings on the agenda for the Pendleton City Council meeting this evening at 7 p.m. The meeting is being held in Council Chambers of Pendleton City Hall.

The first hearing is on changes to the ordinance which regulates the Pendleton Airport Commission. Those changes include allowing the mayor to name a council member to serve as an ex officio commissioner. The commission also wants to change its meetings from monthly to quarterly. There is a provision for additional meetings when necessary.

The second public hearing is to accept testimony regarding the impacts from a Community Development Block Grant that the city received to lessen the impacts of the pandemic. The money was to be distributed throughout the county. Pendleton used Euvalcree, a nonprofit, to administer the funds under the supervision of Business Oregon. The $160,000 was distributed to businesses in Milton-Freewater, Hermiston, Pendleton, and elsewhere in Umatilla County.

The meeting is also available on Zoom. The meeting ID is 816 0967 8353 and the pass code is 619790.
