WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council meets tonight (Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m. and will conduct a public hearing to gather input on the proposed 60 percent annexation of 11 acres on the 3000 block of Cottonwood Road known as the Narum and Burseth properties.

According to city staff, proposed zoning applied to the annexation area is neighborhood residential. At the conclusion of the public hearing, the city council will determine whether to approve the proposed annexation. If the annexation is approved, future development of the land must follow the applicable zoning designation and the permitted uses outlined in the Walla Walla Municipal Code.

Also on the agenda, the council will vote on awarding a bid to Apollo, Inc. for phase one construction improvements to the wastewater treatment plant. Several systems at the plant require replacement to provide and ensure operational performance. Improvements include upgrades to the control panel, computer system, power monitors and cameras in the control building, as well as upgrades to 14 other locations throughout the plant.
