PENDLETON – For the first time in more than a decade, there are more students in the Pendleton School District than there were for the same time last year.
“It looks like we’re up about 43 students, district-wide, with a majority of those being at the high-school level,” Fritsch said of the September population count.
There could be even better news when the October student count is made.
“We do have some families who just simply wait until after Round-Up to have their kids return to school,” he said. “Typically in October we really have a good solid number.”
Fritsch said the Pendleton Virtual Learning Academy is a big help to the enrollment numbers. There are 50 K-5 students, 24 middle school students, and 23 students in high school enrolled in that program.
“I think the broadening what we can offer here in Pendleton has helped and will continue to help us in the future,” Fritsch said.
The total enrollment figure for the school district is 2,992.
