PENDLETON – The Pendleton School District Board of Directors is holding an executive session at 6:15 p.m. Thursday to consider the employment of “a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent.”
There will be no open portion of the meeting so the public is not able to learn what occurred until it is read into the record at a future open meeting. The next regular meeting of the school board is April 11, with a work session planned for April 5. A previous release from the school district said the decision would be made official at the April 11 meeting.
The candidates for superintendent of the school district are in the process of being interviewed. The executive session will come on the heels of an open house for the public to meet the two finalists from 3:30-5:15 p.m. the same day. That event will take place in the training room of the district office on Northwest 10th Street. Each candidate will have 45 minutes to introduce themselves and field questions from the audience.
The finalists are Grandview (Washington) High School Principal Kim Casey and West Park Elementary School Principal Kevin Headings of Hermiston.
