GRANT COUNTY – While major flooding is not expected this coming weekend in Grant County, Sheriff Todd McKinley said the last time he was in the studio, should a flooding event occur, protocols are in place. He said the county has an efficient system for filling sandbags should the need arise:

“They’ve actually got a sandbagging machine and another device that fits right on the front of a Bobcat skid-steer that actually makes a lot of sandbags in a short amount of time.

It still takes people to stack them. We’ve kind of got a system down to where we palletize them, put them right on pallets, and then you can move pallets onto trailers and vehicles, and get them shipped out to locations without as much manual labor.”
