Proposals, tag numbers to be discussed with ODFW’s John Day District

JOHN DAY – The local ODFW office will be holding a discussion this Wednesday, July 1st, regarding tag numbers in the John Day District. ODFW District Wildlife Biologist Ryan Torland informed our newsroom that talks will be held around some proposals and tag numbers for the 2027 hunting season. Public feedback will be gathered at the meeting. It will be held at the Grant County Regional Airport beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and is expected to run until about 7:30 p.m.
According to the ODFW, the Commission will adopt the 2027 Big Game Regulations at their September 18th meeting in La Grande.
