Project to improve the Pendleton Round-Up’s east bleachers continues

PENDLETON – As the Pendleton Round-Up takes out a sliver of Roy Raley Park to improve its east bleacher section, while it’s not a city project but that doesn’t mean the city isn’t watching.

Community Development Director Tim Simons says the workers have totally relocated all of the underground utilities that had to be removed.

“There were a few trees they removed, but the arborist said they needed to go because they were diseased. They were old trees.”

Round-Up will plant new trees. Now they are working on moving the part of the road through the park that was affected. Simons said the curbs are going in and that will be followed by paving in the near future.
