RICHLAND, Washington – The Special Investigations Unit is continuing its probe into the officer-involved shooting on Feb. 1. The incident occurred following a pursuit that ended in a crash and a foot chase.
“While most of the investigative work is complete, reports are being completed by investigators in order to create the master case file report at the conclusion of this investigation,” the SIU reported in its weekly update.
When the shooting occurred, Richland Police Chief John Bruce immediately called up the SIU and all Richland police officers of any involvement in the incident and took control of the probe. SIU has also met with community representatives and has completed numerous interviews.
