WALLA WALLA — Green Park Elementary School Principal Cesar Hernandez will resign at the end of the school year to pursue new professional opportunities, district officials announced.

Hernandez, who began his career with Walla Walla Public Schools in 2011 as a para-educator, has led Green Park since 2022. During his 14-year tenure, he served as a teacher and assistant principal, earning praise for his advocacy of dual language programs and parent outreach.

Superintendent Ben Gauyan credited Hernandez with creating welcoming environments and fostering academic growth. “His dedication has had a lasting impact,” Gauyan said.

The district plans to launch a comprehensive search for a successor, promising to include staff and families in the selection process. Further details regarding community input will be released in the coming weeks.
