PENDLETON – Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus is busier than normal this year. He’s serving as the president of the Oregon District Attorneys Association. Primus said that means weekly meetings, monthly meetings, appearances in Salem, and conference calls. The job did come with one benefit, though.
“The only perk I would say that the president of the association gets is that you get to select the location of one of the monthly meetings,” he said. “In June, I selected Pendleton. I was going to sleep in my own bed and have them travel out here. It was a great opportunity for some of the DAs around the state to travel out to Eastern Oregon and see our community.”
The district attorneys from the west side weren’t the only ones who benefited from meeting in Pendleton.
“When we have our monthly meetings it’s difficult for, say, the DA of Ontario to make it,” he said. “All of the district attorneys from Eastern Oregon came along with a handful from the rest of the state.”
