PENDLETON – Umatilla County Community Corrections Director Dale Primmer is experiencing something new from the 2021 Oregon Legislature. Parole and probation programs throughout the state are not being underfunded.

“For Umatilla County, it will amount to a good amount of an increase over last biennium, which will allow us to fill some vacancies,” he said.

Primmer is several parole officers down right now, two of whom passed away unexpectedly this year, JD Lambert and Jason Post.

“It’s going to allow me to get back to full staffing, which then allows my caseloads to be in a range that’s smaller, which allows for better supervision and more interaction,” he said.
