PENDLETON โ€“ Umatilla County Community Corrections Director Dale Primmer is experiencing something new from the 2021 Oregon Legislature. Parole and probation programs throughout the state are not being underfunded.

โ€œFor Umatilla County, it will amount to a good amount of an increase over last biennium, which will allow us to fill some vacancies,โ€ he said.

ย Primmer is several parole officers down right now, two of whom passed away unexpectedly this year, JD Lambert and Jason Post.

โ€œItโ€™s going to allow me to get back to full staffing, which then allows my caseloads to be in a range thatโ€™s smaller, which allows for better supervision and more interaction,โ€ he said.
