WALLA WALLA – Margarito Arispe Lopez, 54, of Prescott faces charges of voyeurism and possessing depictions of a minor known to him engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Lopez was arrested Monday by the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office.

According to court documents, a girl who was 12 years old at the time, reported to a counselor that she found a cell phone belonging to Lopez hidden among a pile of clothes in the bathroom. She picked up the cell phone and noticed it was recording. She knew the password to his phone and found approximately six videos that appeared to have been recorded in the bathroom. She sent three of the videos to her mother, including one which recorded her in the bathroom, and then deleted the videos from Lopez’s phone.

The counselor reported the alleged incident to Child Protective Services, who then contacted the sheriff’s office on July 21.

During an interview with law enforcement, the victim shared the three videos she had sent to her mother, which were recorded on three separate days in January. In all three videos, Lopez is seen adjusting the angle of the camera and trying to conceal it, then coming back to stop the recording.

Lopez made his first court appearance Tuesday where he petitioned the court for appointment of counsel, which was granted.
