Prairie City to undergo water meter ugrades

PRAIRIE CITY – Prairie City Mayor Scott Officer was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently, and mentioned that after the city receives some allotted grant dollars, the town’s water meters will be getting upgrades:
“With the new technology out there [like] leak detection, if a meter is showing water usage in a time they never do, a computer can detect that and flash up, ‘Hey, you’ve got something going on’…say…at my house, and pinpoint where leaks are at. You know, through the meters. It’s not going to [be able to] tell the main lines.”
