PRAIRIE CITY – The City of Prairie City has restricted outside usage of city municipal water. Find the full release from Prairie City Public Works Director Chris Camarena below:
(Press Release from Prairie City Public Works)
The City of Prairie City appreciates our citizens continued efforts in water conservation. Please note that due to continued demands on our water system caused by high temperatures, historic drought conditions and low water table levels we are asking that consumers restrict outside usage of city municipal water.
This restriction means no outside watering. Municipal water usage should be used for consumption, gardens growing a food source and sanitation only. Watering of lawns, washing vehicles or filling pools and tanks or other non sanitary use are not permitted at this time.
This allows the city to maintain a safe water level in our reservoir for fire emergencies and sanitary usage. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Public Works Director Chris Camarena at 541-620-3100 or City Hall at 541-820-3605.
