Prairie City Summer School Program kicks off June 12th

PRAIRIE CITY – Prairie City School District Special Education Instructor Emily Bernard was on KJDY’s Coffee Time Friday, and informed listeners that she’ll also be an instructor for the Elementary School’s Summer Program. She said when school gets out there will be a couple of days off, and then summer school begins:

“…from June 12th through July 2nd, from 8 [a.m.] to 12 [p.m.] It’s open to all of our elementary, so, Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. They are more than welcome to sign up. We have about 30 kiddos that are already signed up. They’ll have a ‘Hawaiian luau’ theme. We’ve got things planned every single day—it’ll be fun. They will still get some learning in, just to make sure those skills don’t go away.”

Bernard said the program is free to Prairie City Elementary students, and the registration deadline is May 9th.
