PRAIRIE CITY – Prairie City Elementary students are getting a book vending machine here soon. Superintendent Casey Hallgarth was recently in the studio and informed our listeners of the opportunity:
“So, we purchased—it’s called a book vending machine—and we kind of decked it out with our logo and stuff. You know, we’re trying to get these kids to love reading.
The book vending machine will hold close to 200 books.”
Superintendent Hallgarth explained that kids can purchase the books with special tokens they earn for achieving their individual reading goals. The program will soon be available to Prairie City students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade.
