PRAIRIE CITY/MONUMENT – Both the cities of Monument and Prairie City are requesting grant funding through the Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation Local Government Grant Program. According to a recent OPRD release, the Grant Advisory Committee will meet Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, 2026, to evaluate applications from around the state for projects that support the acquisition, development or rehabilitation of outdoor recreation facilities.
Prairie City is requesting funding for the City Park West Rehabilitation project, and Monument needs funding for their City Park Rehabilitation project. After applicants provide a brief presentation of their proposals, the committee will evaluate and score all applications and create a priority ranking list of projects to be funded. The meeting will be held on Zoom and is open to the public, but there will not be time for public comments.
