PENDLETON – Kashmere Charles Murr, 21, is facing felony aggravated assault of a public safety officer, after allegedly getting into a fight at The Saddle Saturday. Pendleton Police Chief Chuck Byram said officers were nearby when the call of a fight came in and arrived on the scene in about a minute.

“There was a subject being held down by bar patrons, but when the officer tried to take control of the scene the individual squirmed away, got up, and punched my officer straight in the eye,” Byram said. “He lost vision for a while.”

That wasn’t the only arrest police made at the scene. One of Murr’s associates got into trouble as well.

“Ethan J. Tappa, born in 2001, was also lodged at the jail for aggravated harassment because he spit on the medics who arrived on scene to evaluate my officer,” Byram said.

Byram said the officer’s vision has returned and he was back on the job Tuesday.
