PPC to consider signage change in historic downtown

PENDLETON – The Pendleton Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. today (Thursday). Three public hearings are on the agenda.

The first is a request from property owner Terry Lindell that he be allowed to construct a caretaker’s dwelling within an existing property that is zoned light industrial. The dwelling would be located in the office area on the second floor of the shop and garage at 2414 NE Lindell Lane.

The second public hearing is on a proposal that the city’s sign code ordinance be amended to require signs of the era in which a building was constructed within the city’s historic district. The district is the area between the Umatilla River and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks between Southeast and Southwest Third streets.

The third hearing is to create amendments to the unified development code and comprehensive plan which will amend any articles pertaining to local wetlands. The amendments are due to state-mandated requirements.
