Power line in the trees is a close call for Hines Fire Department

HINES-The evening of Wednesday, July 16, 2026 around 6:00pm, the Hines Fire Department arrived on scene to a tree across power lines and on fire on North Quincy Ave in Hines, Oregon.
Hines Fire Department awaited the arrival of Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC). Once OTEC arrived on scene, OTEC took over and de-energized the power line. The burning tree was mostly branches and mostly extinguished itself.
Hines Fire Department cleared the scene and the volunteers returned to their regularly scheduled lives, ready to respond to the next emergency.
