Potential ‘Building Department’ scam warning from city of Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA – The city of Walla Walla Building Division reports it has gotten calls from residents reporting they received voicemails from someone claiming to work for Walla Walla’s “Building Department” and asking them to call a 1-800 number.

The city cautions residents to not call the number left in the voicemail. These voicemails aren’t actually from city staff.

The city of Walla Walla doesn’t use 1-800 numbers, and Building/Permitting staff will only call you if you have an active permit.
