Post Storm Resources for Wallow County Residents

Wallowa County – (Information from the Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce) Though several weeks have passed, many in Wallowa County are still recovering from the devastating hailstorm that ravaged the area. The Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce has provided the following list of resources and support options for those in need:

  • A form to apply for $500 in recovery aid is available at Wallowa City Hall/Fire Dept. or at the Wallowa Senior Center
  • Those that qualify for SNAP/TANFF benefits may visit Wallowa City Hall/Fire Dept. or Wallowa Senior Center for replacement food resources. You can also apply for food benefits in both places as well as Wallowa Food City in Wallowa having applications.
  • Wallowa Food Bank (211 E First St.) is open 5 days a week right now and anyone in need of food may stop in, regardless of eligibility. Hours are currently Monday 3pm-5pm, Tuesday 9am-11am, Wednesday 6pm-8pm, Thursday and Friday 3pm-5pm.
  • Wallowa Food City has applications for Proration of Property Taxes Due to Damage by Fire or Act of God. Reach out to the County Tax Collector with questions 541-426-4543. These applications can be turned in at the Assessor’s Office at the Wallowa County Courthouse or mailed to Wallowa County Courthouse, 101 S River St. Rm 104, Enterprise.
  • Wallowa ReSale Store is offering FREE replacement items to Wallowa residents. The store is open Thursday – Saturday from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. They also have a list of people who are willing to donate larger items that they don’t have room for, and will help connect those in need with those who have the items to donate.
  • Plywood and tarps are available at Wallowa City Hall/Fire Dept.
  • A account has been set up for donations at Community Bank.
  • The City of Joseph is now accepting donations of the following items for the citizens of Wallowa: New school supplies, New school clothing for any age of school students, household tarps and hay tarps. Please drop off items at Joseph City Hall, Monday-Thursday between the hours of 10am-3pm. Please do not leave items at door during unopened times. Items will be delivered to the City of Wallowa once a week.
  • Building Healthy Families has am emergency diaper bank at Wallowa City Hall. Items available at no cost: diapers, wipes, formula and hygiene products.
  • Energy Trust has funds to help community members impacted by the hail storm. Residential and commercial customers of Pacific Power may be eligible for cash incentives for energy efficient repairs and upgrades.
