WALLA WALLA – Port of Walla Walla Commissioners Kip Kelly, Ron Dunning, and Amy Schwab approved a $14.8 million purchase sale agreement for about 500 acres of former First Fruits property in Wallula late last week.
The property, which is being purchased by Worden Farm LLC, is zoned industrial agricultural mix and is located immediately adjacent to the port’s Wallula Gap Business Park, which Executive Director Pat Reay said is an ideal location for future development. The property is also located in a tax increment area.
Before the purchase can occur, the port must complete a boundary line adjustment.
Reay explained purchasing the property is consistent with the port’s goal to maintain an ample supply of land and buildings throughout Walla Walla County to meet the needs of desired businesses and industries. The closing is required to take place by May 15.
