WALLA WALLA – A Walla Walla patrol officer spotted a vehicle driving eastbound on Highway 12 in the westbound lane Monday afternoon and raced to stop what could have been a deadly situation.
Communications Officer Gunner Fulmer reports the officer pinned the wrong-way vehicle to the center divider to keep it from traveling any further. Callers to 911 reported that the driver had also taken his vehicle through a pond on Estrella Street near the Whitman College campus.
The driver of the vehicle, Kristin Dewey, 33, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
