MILTON-FREEWATER – Two separate arrests were announced Monday by Milton-Freewater Police Chief Doug Boedigheimer. The local men were recently arrested on multiple charges which include suspicion of rape and unlawful use of a weapon.

On Friday, MFPD arrested Alejandro Colin-Gonzalez, 19, on the 400 block of South Mill Street and has been charged with one count of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sex abuse.
Boedigheimer said that on Sept. 6, MFPD was advised of a possible sex offense, allegedly committed by Colin-Gonzalez against a child.

Detectives conducted an investigation and submitted the case to the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office. A Umatilla County grand jury returned indictments on the listed charges. An arrest warrant was issued and on Friday afternoon, Colin-Gonzalez met a MFPD detective, at which time, he was arrested on the warrant.

Colin-Gonzalez is currently being held in the Umatilla County Jail. His bail has been set at $600,000.
The second arrest was made Sunday morning after officers responded to the 900 block of South Mill Street to a report of an armed subject that had just pointed a firearm at a resident.
Prior to officers arriving, Jesus Diaz-Meza, 33, fled the scene in a vehicle.

An investigation, including video evidence, identified the suspect as Diaz-Meza. MFPD, with the assistance of Oregon State Police, responded to Diaz-Meza’s apartment on the 500 block of Northeast Eighth Street and took him into custody.

He was later transported to the Umatilla County Jail and booked on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, second-degree criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct.
