PENDLETON โ€“ Police activity in the south hill area of Pendleton caused a temporary lockdown of area schools and businesses, and the arrest of an individual on Wednesday morning.

At 8:26 a.m. Pendleton Police (PPD) received a report of an isolated incident and responded to the scene to investigate. Schools and businesses in the area, including Pendleton Early Learning Center, enacted secure/lockdown procedures out of an abundance of caution. Those have since been lifted.

One individual was taken into custody and PPD say thereโ€™s no ongoing threat to the public. They are actively investigating and say they will release further details when they become available.
