Plaque memorializing Dave Hicks is on display at The Baker Sports Complex

BAKER CITY – A special plaque has been placed at the Baker City Sports Complex.  The plague is a dedication to Dave Hicks who dedicated his adult life to giving back to Eastern Oregon communities and youth sports.  

The plaque reads as follow: 

“Dave Hicks 

1954-2020

Dave Hicks dedicated his adult life to giving back to Eastern Oregon communities and youth sports.  A long time Baker City resident, Dave’s involvement in youth sports dates back to the early 1970s.  Dave served as middle and high school sports coach, umpire, and administrator of youth sports.  At the time of his passing, Dave was serving as the Oregon District 3 Little League Administrator, supervising 13 Little League organizations in Morrow, Malheur, Harney, Grant, Baker, Union, Wallowa, and Umatilla Counties.  

Dave’s 45 + years of service to the youth in Eastern Oregon is a great example of service for all to follow.”
