WALLA WALLA & COLLEGE PLACE – The Walla Walla Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit and the College Place Police Department are planning the largest take-back event ever held in the area on April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at WWPD and on April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Walmart parking lot in College Place.
The Drug Take-out portion of the event is part of a national campaign. In addition to returning prescription drugs, there will be a separate sharps bin for needles and lancets.
People can turn in discarded computers or other electronics for safe disposal. That portion of the event is being handled by Price Computers.
A shred truck will be at both locations, staffed with Walla Walla Area Crime Watch volunteers. Donations to Crime Watch will be gladly accepted.
A junk tire disposal is offered exclusively to residents of Walla Walla County. No commercial, farm, or semi-truck tires can be accepted. Each household is limited to 16 tires, with no rims. The tire disposal service will operate two hours longer than the main take-back events at each location.
More details will be released as the event draws closer.
