Planned water main outage to affect Echo Hills area Wednesday

ECHO — Residents near the Echo Hills Golf Course will face a planned water outage Wednesday morning as contractors upgrade the city’s water infrastructure.
The service interruption is scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. and could last six to eight hours, according to a city news release. City officials said the timeline depends on underground construction conditions, though crews hope to restore service sooner.
The temporary shutdown is required so workers can install a bypass line and upgrade the Golf Course Booster Pump Station. The work is part of the final phase of Echo’s Water System Improvement Project, which aims to boost the long-term reliability and capacity of the municipal water system. Once the bypass line is in place, crews can rebuild the booster station with fewer future disruptions to local customers.
Properties on or near Smith Drive, Golf Course Road, Fullerton Road, and Cottage Lane will be affected. The outage will also impact the Echo Hills Golf Course and Clubhouse, as well as Gerone Street from Golf Course Road to the pressure-reducing station near the irrigation ditch.
City staff plan to distribute door hangers to affected homes and businesses Tuesday to provide advance notice.
Officials recommend that residents complete household water needs before 9 a.m. and store enough water in pitchers or buckets for drinking, cooking, and flushing toilets.
