MILTON-FREEWATER – A planned sale of Milton-Freewater’s drive-in theater has apparently fallen through, according to a post on the M-F Drive In Theater Facebook page.
The post said the Spiess family, the current owners, were notified by Andrew and Stephanie Brown on Friday morning that they were terminating the purchase agreement. No reason was given.
The handover was scheduled for the end of June, with a farewell event for the Spiess family held that weekend. A post on the theater’s Facebook page on June 29 declared “And that’s a wrap! 1961-2026.”
The Spiess family says it will continue to operate the theater until the end of the 2026 season, when they plan to put the property back up for sale.
