GRANT COUNTY – Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative has announced that there will be a planned power outage this Friday, Dec. 3rd. The outage will affect Fall Mountain communication facilities, including 94.5fm KJDY. The outage is scheduled to last from approximately 10am until 1pm on Friday. KJDY listeners can tune into 1400am as well as our translator on 93.7fm for the usual programming.
According to OTEC, the planned outage is necessary as the co-op transfers power from overhead power lines to a new underground distribution system. The project is designed to lessen the likelihood of weather-related outages along Starr Ridge and in the surrounding area. This stretch of line has frequently been knocked out by falling limbs, wind-blown trees and heavy snow.
