Plane lands on Pierce Road, mechanical issue cited as the cause

A slight mechanical issue is being cited as the reason for a plane landing on Pierce Road outside of La Grande this afternoon.
According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the plane was in the area for an air show in Wallowa County. It was noted that the aircraft had a slight mechanical failure, it landed, lost its brakes, and ended up on Pierce Road.
No further information was released.
