WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council will consider awarding the Pioneer Park pedestrian improvements project to Culbert Construction of Pasco at its council meeting on May 8.

The bid for the construction project is $2.9 million and city staff anticipate construction will be completed this fall. The project will improve safety and ADA accessibility for the pedestrian crossing at Division Street near Pioneer Park.

The missing sidewalk along Whitman Street will be completed. The failing water, sewer, and street surface on Whitman Street adjacent to Pioneer Park, will also be fully replaced along with the pedestrian safety enhancements.
