Pine Fire in the Strawberry Wilderness

GRANT COUNTY – Firefighting resources are battling the Pine Fire, burning in the Dean Creek area of the Strawberry Wilderness. Wildcad.net shows the fire at 1.1 acres in size, and 40% contained. At last update the fire was almost all the way lined. It’s burning in snags, slash, timber and brush. The forest service reports that rappelers, tree fellers and a helicopter with bucket have been working the incident. We’ll provide further updates as they come in.
