Pile burning season is here in Harney County

HARNEY COUNTY-Pile burning season is here, and the Harney County Sheriff’s Office is asking that you call dispatch as a courtesy for when and where you are burning.
There have been several calls from passersby about burning that the Sheriff’s Department is not aware of. This is taking up time from fire and law enforcement resources trying to locate these fires, when really it is a planned burning.
To call in a prescribed burn, please call Harney County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 573.6156.
