PENDLETON – Pendleton High School Principal Melissa Sandven has notified the district her last day will be June 30. Superintendent Chris Fritsch said Sandven wants to return to the west side of the state after three years at the helm of PHS.
“Her two grown children and her mother live there,” he said.
The search for a new principal has already begun.
“We have the job posted,” Fritsch said. “There are talented people within our district who will be considered but we are calling for all who are interested to apply.”
If all goes according to plan, Fritsch said the applications will be reviewed on April 2. The interview process will begin and he hopes to have a recommendation for the school board at its May regular meeting. They expect to have a candidate on board on July 1. Administrators’ contracts with the district run from July 1 to June 30 each year.
