MISSION โ€“ The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation is opening their mass vaccination event today (Monday) and tomorrow for anyone 16 and older who resides in the 11 counties that comprise the CTUIR ceded territory.

The 11 counties are Umatilla, Morrow, Union, Grant, Baker, Wallowa, and Malheur counties in Oregon and Walla Walla, Columbia, Garfield, and Benton counties in Washington. The Oregon National Guard is assisting in the event at Wildhorse Resort & Casino.

The clinic is until 4 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow. People can walk in for an appointment or register online. The link for registration is posted at the Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center Facebook page. Phone registration is possible by calling 541-240-8733. More information is also available at that number.

Appointments for second doses of the vaccine will be made via email after people receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The second dose is provided approximately 21 days later. Yellowhawk is already planning a similar event in May, also for everyone 16 and older living within the ceded territory.
